January 7- Our First Wedding Anniversary!

How good God has been to us in our first year of marriage! We definitely were/are young and in love. But perfect? Us? NO WAY! We've been taught much about being a godly leader and helpmeet, yet there is still SO MUCH MORE to learn. I look forward to seeing what our 2nd year brings!
Our anniversary was simple, but special, just like out wedding! We went out to eat at olive garden, ate a little bit of our wedding cake topper, played games and just enjoyed each others company. How I love my time with my man! =)
My cool and cute guy!
Onto a Date-Day-Saturday! Used a Christmas certificate to see the movie "Lincoln" and go out to lunch. =)

Janurary 4- What To Do With So Many Candy Canes?

These are a few of the candy canes we had on our tree. What are we going to do with them all?!

January 3- Husband's Homade Waffles =)

My husband is so good to me! After a long night of grocery shopping, he made me some delicious homemade waffles.

January 1st- Learning to Lean in 2013

On New Years Eve, during our fellowship at church, our Pastor challenged us with a new year theme, "Learning to Lean in 2013.
Proverbs 3:5-6
 1) Leaning on the Lord will bring peace.
 2) Leaning on the Lord will bring power.
 3) Learning to lean starts with prayer.

Psalm 37:4-5

Oh how our understanding is foolish! We must be committed to seeking the Lord's guidance and will in all things! Lean on Jesus this year...and every year after that also.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

365 Day Photography Challenge

It feels like its been so long since I was in high school. Yet only two short years ago I was a senior awaiting graduation. A lot has happened in two years. So much that if I were to go into detail this post would be way (!) to long. Two huge highlights would be, I was married and my husband and I are now expecting our son to arrive, Lord willing, in April.

I don't miss high school all that much. But there is one room and one teacher I miss with all my heart! I miss "my art room" and my sweet art teacher, Lani Hoensheid-Smith. I started art and photography class (Mrs. Smith taught both) in 11th grade and basically lived in the art room during my 12th grade year. I learned so much in that class room! Once I graduated I started missing that room like crazy. Obviously I can't go back, but Mrs. Smith gave me one of the best presents for my graduation. And that gift was ENCOURAGEMENT! She gave me a homemade clay mug with a note in it. The note had the verse Genesis 1:1 on it."In the beginning GOD CREATED..." She encouraged me to keep being creative no matter where God will lead me.

Once I was married my whole life changed! Unfortunately my creativity has gone slightly to the way side. But God has blessed me with the interest and talent to be creative! I want to exercise and grow this creativity in me, FOR GOD'S HONOR AND GLORY! So, here I am. At the beginning of a new year. I desire to start a challenge. A 365 day challenge, to take one photo a day. It gets over whelming if I think about it too much, but I'll just take it one day at a time!

God Bless,
Claire
